More Good news Bad news

The good news is that almost all of the punch list items are now completed and operational. Bilge pumps are now working, fresh water is working, engine is running well…

But the Wallas heater is not working. Replacing the glow plug didn't fix it, and there seems to be a problem with the fuel pump or it's electronic controller. So the heater is off to Seattle for repairs. The cost will be big (the estimate is about half the cost of a new unit) but I don't have a firm date yet for when it will be back from the shop.

Meanwhile, we have completed our trip by land, coming back through Port Alberni (with a visit to Sproat Lake to search for monsters - none found, unless you count petroglyphs and the giant Martin Mars flying boats!) and Nanaimo, where we explored the treetop obstacle course at WildPlay, and finally back to Victoria for Canada Day and a great fireworks display over the harbour.

I'll let you know when I have a date for the heater's return, and we'll try to set out again for adventure on the high seas!
